Undoing racism takes more than just awareness it takes engagement.

It's so unfortunate to still see folks who hold power refuse to exercise the muscles needed to get comfortable with being uncomfortable as it pertains to race politics.

Folks don't realize that by not acknowledging race politics in the classroom you are subliminally teaching that White Supremacy is an adequate foundational structure for our society and for our fields of study.

I am so tired of the unnecessary complex sentence structures that ultimately distract the reader from the task at hand that is to dismantle racism.

Racism is a complex system on its own and does not need to be made more complex by white "antiracist scholars". Our job is to make theories around the construction of race as simple and accessible as possible, not showboat our ability to perpetuate the complexities of racism.

We dismantle racism by equipping people with knowledge so that they can fight for themselves. Gatekepping does nothing and in my opinion perpetuates the white savior complex.

I can't lie to yall I am tired of Jerry Springer being given an honorary Black Card as if he has done any good for the social narratives around Black people. This man does nothing but profit off of pain and somehow people love him for it because it makes "good" TV.

I haven't had a Throne Thoughts video in awhile so here are the hot points.

1. The most value Black people have to the news is the eventufulness of their death video for the sake of B-roll footage.

2. Curse Words in the news have more value and power to implement a change in somones choices than Black Death. The News will censor cursing before they blur a black body being murdered on television.

3. No matter how much evidence there is- if a murderer "lucked" up and was born white AND "lucked" up in becoming a police officer their killings will always be doubted as being caused by their own hands.

4. Paranoia in all bodies that sit outside of whitenss is deemed a mental illness. But paranoia in a white body is the definition of sanity.

5. Black people understand the language of the body and mind. White people choose to solely acknowledge spoken words.

6. Black people, give yourself a baptism- cause we need the rebirth!

I'm just gone start off my saying please send this to a White Women (person) who need to be taking some notes.

I am tired of these paid for performances of Diversity, Inclusion and Antiracist sermonic presentations.

If you are not embodying the very ideas you claim to support then you are doing nothing but placing on a costume when it serves you. And yup you guessed it costumes are meant to be taken off at the end of a show.

Whew yall I'm still finding the language for this one. I am constantly checking myself and undoing this sense of individualism and the need to be the only One. I hate what Black Poster Culture does to us and to me.

But I also understand its roots and purpose. The institution of whitness thrives when we as Black Folk are at war with one another. we really be enjoying the fight to be the crab at the top.

It makes me sick when I catch myself allowing my career victories to be monumental only when I am able to vocalize the many Black Women that "lost to me."

And the thing is, this mindset is soooo natural and to fight against it is to be hyper aware and in the know about the veiled tools of whitness used to upkeep an oppressive system.

I get nothing out of seeing another Black Woman lose. And that's on Periodt.

I had this epiphany last night about how I have been conditioned to relate to the use of my Black Woman Body. Learning that its sole function is to be a tool for building foundations and structures for other people only. That I am only as good as the work I do for others. Not realizing that to do for me is to do for others. AND that both are and should be accessible. I think these findings are also hovering around the conversations that keeps coming up for me around Black Women and their historical and current relationship to labor.

I think these trainings should really be called undoing racism workshops....
Maybe then they would be taken more seriously and they would hold more weight.

Right? Because that is a major element of the work being tapped into when in these sessions...but because these institutions don't really care if change really occurs they throw us time crumbs like an hour. Not to mention you hire these Black Women who are bomb at their jobs and love what they do and you only give them an hour to attempt to undo the history of racism in the entire institutions. GTFOH.

1. Use of embarrassment in private or in front of company to shame you into assimilating back into no challenging their [white] power.
2. Undermine your intelligence or trying to make you look or feel stupid for thinking differently than them.
3. Try to uproot your credibility and your claim to scholarship
4. Gaslighting you to make you look and feel crazy and like your reality is a delusion.

If you are speaking the truth about race and experience these defense tools just know you are doing something right!!! Uncomfortability means you have struck a nerve and forced a mirror up to their face.

It is so difficult to be the only Black woman in a space full of white faces and be authenticity Black and woman without feeling the reality that I will be spectacalized for simply being myself. Therefore pushing me to always be in question internally on whether my existence is a performance or me really being my true self.
