Spoken Words

Over(we)

10/21/2020

My canals fill
Winding and Pouring
With the rises and falls
Of the Sun
A moon soon arises
And yet we are still one
As the stars shine
We are shot across the horizon
Burning flames of light like uncontrollable gas
Particles swoon into the night
Though tethered
Your fire burns my light
Scorched in your presence
I now eagerly seek to escape the night
My canals fill
Winding and pouring
With the rises and falls of the sun
I pray the moon never awakens
For that is the only time we become one.

Inspired by Tupac's  'A River that Flows Forever (4 Mother)' & 'Tears of a Teenage Mother'

"Poetry has served as a linguistic code since I was a child. It allowed me to speak freely without fear.
In an effort to synchronize my creative voices I am giving my love for poetry a home in my creative process.
    These are my spoken words."
