Spoken Words

Can We Go Back?

3/23/2020

Can we go back to when things were simple
Back to when your feelings was mutual
Back to the days when our laughs rang
Unanswered.
Because no-one was home.

Staying up late nights
Typed with a type of bliss
Unaware of the memories I'd miss.

Can we go back-to-back
When fighting was wack
Silence wasn't a virtue
And words didn't hurt you.

Can we go back?
Can we go?
Can we...?
Can we go back to U.N.I.T.Y.
Back seat pleas to letting go
Trying a new
View
Because you knew I was bound to sing...
"Baby, please set me free...Unchain."

My heart
Playing on repeat
I plea
Just call me please
Just call me
Just Call
Just.

Just us never came
Yeah we one in the same
But even to two peas in a pod
Pop out never to return again.

Can we just
Can we just be
You and me
Still.

Still Lives
Inanimate we stand the struggles of time
We stood the struggles of time

We stood.
Struggled.
In Time.

Now that time is up
Snoozing is no more.

Years turned to days
Dazed in our hours
Our minutes turned to seconds
Second to each-other.
Others took my place.

Placed last
I'm now laced with the task to ask.

Can we go back!
Can we go?
Can we...?

"Poetry has served as a linguistic code since I was a child. It allowed me to speak freely without fear.
In an effort to synchronize my creative voices I am giving my love for poetry a home in my creative process.
