Spoken Words

He was Just...

5/12/2020

Letter to the White Policeman:
Dear Mr. Policeman,
He wasn't doing nuthin!
HE WAS JUST...!

"These words sound all too familiar.
Time seem to have made them the dying words of the Black Family Unit.
The dying words of a wife who
Just
Lost her World.
The dying words of a daughter who
Just
Lost the only respectable man in her life.
The dying words of a mother whose seed has
Just
Run dry.
'He was JUST!'
But being Just seem to be synonymous with death and crime nowadays.
If you can't win for being Just...?
Then What can you win for?"

"Poetry has served as a linguistic code since I was a child. It allowed me to speak freely without fear.
In an effort to synchronize my creative voices I am giving my love for poetry a home in my creative process.
    These are my spoken words."
